Understanding When Needed Most
Robert “Bob” E. Dix, 79, of Medina, Ohio, loving husband, kind father and faithful friend, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016. Preceded in death by his parents Elroy and Victoria (nee Semala) Dix, and brother Dennis (Laura). A Type 1 diabetic for 66 years, his daily discipline in God's providential care led to an amazingly long life. As a member of Carpenter’s Union Local #95 for 39 yrs, his legacy is evident in many buildings across Northeast Ohio. He enjoyed woodworking and volunteered at Medina Community Service Center. Bob was member of Weymouth Community Church (36 yrs) having served as a deacon, and leaves behind a legacy of faith, accepting Jesus Christ as his Savior, along with his family. The gentleness which was his core trait, was experienced by all who knew him, to the very end. As he now sits at that great banquet table, his family awaits to join him to be forever with the Lord. The family wishes to express their thanks to God for such a man, and to all who called him friend Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years,- LaVerne “Verni”, loving sons- Kurt (Elaine) of Medina and Scott (Betsy) of Charlotte, NC. Cherished grandfather of Tyler (Becca), Rachel, Alexandria, Constance and Geneva Dix. Celebration of Life Service to be held at Weymouth Community Church, Friday, October 7, 2016 at 6:30 PM. In lieu of flowers- The family suggests memorials may be made to the Weymouth Community Church. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Bauer Funeral Home, Valley City.
