Charles Edward Janzen

April 6, 1938 - September 29, 2016

Charles “Chuck” Janzen, age 78 of Medina, OH has now gone fishing permanently as of Thursday, September 29, 2016. Chuck was the last of eight children born to Paul & Lillie (nee Sween) Janzen in Marion, Kansas on April 6, 1938. Chuck served in the U.S. Navy from 1956-1962. He was a carpenter by trade and later worked at the U.S. Post office in Lindsborg, Kansas. He really enjoyed fishing whenever he had the opportunity. He is survived by his children, Anita (Greg) Barnhart, Vickie (Daniel) O’Brien, Jim Janzen, Sherry (Jim) Foster, Gary Youngquest, Jr. and Diane Hubin. Grandchildren, Shannon Zaleski, Jeremy Holly, Callahan O’Brien, Amber Janzen, Cody & Staci Foster, Bryant & Tyler Markley, Jacob & Jace Hubin, Melissa, Gary III, Hannah, Gabriella, Isaiah & Alexander Youngquest. 16 great grandchildren. A brother Arlie of Abilene, Kansas, many nieces and nephews. His Faithful 4-legged companion, Cristol. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers- LaVerne, Allen and Bob; Sisters- Vera, Vi and Jane; great grandson- Gavin Elenburg. Calling hours will be 5:30-8:00 PM Sunday, October 2, 2016 at the Bauer Funeral Home, 2089 Columbia Road Valley City, OH. There will a Service at 7:30 PM Sunday with Pastor Thelma Walter, officiating. Family and Friends are invited to meet at the entrance of Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Seville, OH for a Committal Service, 9:30 AM Monday, October 3, 2016 .
