Understanding When Needed Most
William R. Dash, 77, of Litchfield, Ohio passed away peacefully with his family at his side, Friday, February 17, 2017.
Bill was born September 17, 1939 in West Newton, PA to the late William E. and Anna K. (nee Monath) Dash. He resided in PA until moving to Medina County in 1977. Bill had served in the US Army from 1958-1961, he was a member of the 864th Army Combat Engineers. He was a member of the North Ridgeville American Legion, Post #0717
He was very involved with activities of his children while they were in school. Bill was a past Webelos and BoyScout leader. He was past President of the Buckeye Band Parents and served as the Buckeye Marching Band announcer.
Bill had been a civil engineer, working with Western Reserve Engineering, Cleveland and retired from Solar Testing Lab in Garfield Hts.
Bill remained active following retirement. He worked at Home Depot in Cleveland and Brunswick and also had newspaper and telephone books routes he delivered.
He is survived by his wife Patricia, married June 26, 1965, children Stephanie Dash (John Pozzi) of N. Ridgeville, Dawn (Dennis) Schwartz, of Wadsworth, W. Chad (Kellie) Dash of Medina and Jeff (Yvette) Dash of Nutley, NJ. Grandchildren- Samantha Jo Pozzi and Damien Dash. Sisters- Dorothy Jean (Jim) Biek, Shaker Hts. And Betty ( late Skip) Mostoller, Butler, PA
At Billís request- There will be no services and cremation has taken place.
Burial will be held at a later date in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville, OH.
In lieu of flowers- The family requests memorial may be made to the Wounded American Veterans or to the Breast Cancer Foundation.
The Bauer Funeral Home, Valley City has the honor of serving the Dash family.
