Willie W. Vance

November 8, 1944 - March 4, 2017

Willie W. Vance, age 72, of Ashland, Ohio passed away peacefully with his family at his side, Saturday, March 4, 2017.

He was born in Melvin, Kentucky, on November 8, 1944 to the late Willie and Maggie (nee Hall) Vance.

Willie was a 1963 graduate of Buckeye High School. He was a member of the Carey First Free Will Baptist Church, Carey, Ohio.

He had lived in Valley City, Findlay and most recent Ashland. Willie served as a U.S. Marine in the Vietnam War from 1966-1968.

Willie worked as a security guard for the Pinkerton Security Company.

Willie enjoyed working in the technogly field with computers and electronics gadgets. He was an outdoorsman all his life. He took great pride in his grandchildren.

He will be greatly missed by his children- Greg (Sharon) Vance of Polk; Cindy Craig (Rick Nakoff) of Medina and Mindy (Logan) Ennis of Lodi. Seven grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Step children- Paul Guyton, of South Charlston, OH ; Stephen Guyton of Columbus and Mary Jo Allen of Stryker, OH and their children.

Brother- Joe Vance of Grafton and June (Richard) Survance of West Salem. Many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his wife- Judy Guyton Vance, 2002.

Funeral Service- 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the Bauer Funeral Home 2089 Columbia Road Valley City. Pastor Sid Ramey, officiating.

Calling hours- Weds. 5-8 pm at the funeral home. Burial- Myrtle Hill Cemetery, Valley City.
