Understanding When Needed Most
Lois Marie Knopf, age 87, formerly of Columbia Station, Ohio passed away peacefully on August 22, 2017 at South West Commons, Strongsville. Marie was born on July 5, 1930 in Lorain, Ohio to the late Joseph and Sophia Tropio. She resided for most of her life in Columbia Station. Marie was a Registered Nurse for 35+ years. She worked at SWGH for much of those years in the ER and OB Departments. She also worked part time at The Surgery Center in Middleburg Hts. after retirement and volunteered at a hospital in Avon Park, FL. She was a former member of Columbia Methodist Church. Marie enjoyed baking & gardening, especially tending to her flower beds. Marie will be greatly missed by her sons- David (Jenny) of Columbia Station, Gary (Joan) of Berea and Dennis (Brenda) of Columbia Station. 7 grandchildren- Jonathan, Sara, Erin, Amber, Candace, Joanna & Chris and 15 great grandchildren- McKenzie, Broderyk, Alexandria, Caroline, Harrison, Juliana, Ava, Nicholas, Lucas, Marcus, Andrew, Victoria, Lute, Lilly and Kate. One sister and One brother and sister-in-laws: Gail Knopf and Barb Beyer. Preceded in death by her husband- Harlan Knopf, 2006 and a sister Joan.
