Mickey Kanzeg, Sr. 67, of Medina passed away on Weds. October 4, 2017. Mickey was born November 5, 1949 in Cleveland to the late Earl Sr. and Celia (Goers) Kanzeg. He grew up in Hinckley and moved to York Township in the 1970’s. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam era, serving 4 years. Mickey was well known as a farmer and livestock dealer. He and his wife Jenny have been caregivers in their home for disabled veterans for many years. One of Mickey’s famous cliché “I am the joy of everyone’s life”. He will be greatly missed by his wife Virginia “Jenny”, married 47 years. Children- Kimberly Kanzeg (David Alexander), Mickey Jr. and Michael (Jimbo) Miller ( Cyndie Conway). Grandfather of Eric, Erica, Mackenzie, Broderick “Broccoli”, Cooper, Carter & Emily. Great grandfather of Evan and Emma. Brother- Herbert (Pat) Kanzeg , Sister- Shirley Frantz (Bob Burton). Many nieces and nephews. Sister-in-laws, Nancy Kanzeg, Ethel Yankee (Ray), Barbara Ann Dreher; Brother-in-laws, Ted Groenstein (Karen), Bobby Dreher (Marge), Richie Dreher (Judy) and many nieces and nephews. Dear friend- Colleen Keesler; Best friends- Pam & Phil Miller, Steven & Sarah Miller and Melaina & Mike Vasel. Forever Friends Kevin, Tom & John Paul.
Preceded in death by brother Earl Kanzeg, Jr. Feb. 2014. At Mickey’s request, cremation has taken place. Family & friends are invited to attend Mickey’s burial- Friday, October 13, 2017 11:00 AM at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Seville. The Bauer Funeral Home, Valley City has the honor of serving the Kanzeg Family.
