Robert L. "Bob" Dressler

June 27, 1959 - June 28, 2018

Robert L. (Bob) Dressler, 59 of Litchfield, Ohio went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, June 28, 2018 with loved ones by his side following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born June 27, 1959 in Wadsworth, Ohio to Rose (nee King) and Howard Dressler. He grew up in Wadsworth and Medina eventually settling in Litchfield. His parents instilled in him an exceptional work ethic and he was an excellent provider for his family. He worked 2 years at the former Smucker’s Pickle Factory in Medina followed by 38 years at Carlisle Brake and Friction, Medina. He loved music and playing his guitar, which he learned to play by ear. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. Bob had been a member of the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association and competed in the World Horseshoe Tournament in 2003. He loved the Lord and attended Litchfield Assembly of God, where he had previously served as a deacon, worship leader and was involved in the prison ministry. The family would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank You” to all the nurses and nursing assistants who helped care for him throughout his journey. Bob is survived by his wife of 35 years, Tammy, (nee Powers), daughter- Brittany of Litchfield. His mother- Rose Dressler, brothers- Howard, Jr., David, and Dan Dressler all of Litchfield. Sister- Tammy (Wally) Prichard of Cleveland, mother-in-law: Carmel Powers of Litchfield. Many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. His companion Cosmo the cat. He was preceded in death by his father- Howard Dressler, Sr., Sister- Brenda Dressler (Kern) Grandparents- Margaret and John E. King and Catherine and David Dressler and father-in-law: C.B. Powers. Visitation will be held from 1:30 PM until 3:30 PM, Sunday, July 1, 2018 at the Bauer Funeral Home 2089 Columbia Road Valley City, with a funeral service being held at the close of hours at 3:30PM. At Robert’s request, cremation will take place following the services. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help defray the funeral expenses.
