Ralph Leo Malik, 93, of Strongsville, OH passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 21, 2019. Ralph was born December 11, 1925 in North Royalton, Ohio to the late Leo and Theresa (nee Janovick) Malik. He was a 1943 graduate of Strongsville High School. Ralph served on the U.S. Navy from 1943-1946. In 1949, he married the love of his life Coletta Rahrig. They lived and raised their daughters in Columbia Station. Ralph was a charter member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Columbia Station and was also a member of St. Martin of Tours, Valley City. As ‘Leo A. Malik and Sons, ‘Ralph and his brother, Raymond, worked with their father to develop hybrid seed corn varieties. Later, Ralph and Coletta owned and operated the C & C Deli in Columbia Station for 20 years. Ralph loved to travel, especially in the mountain vistas. He had a winter home in Florida. He was greatly loved and will be missed by his sweetheart, Mary Darus; daughters, Jennifer (James) Park, Johanna Rogers, Christine Malik and Carolyn (James) Kruse. Grandchildren: Allison (Kyle) Wippert, James Park, Jr., Jared & Jonathan Rogers, Andrew Danilovic, Tim (Erin) Gross, and Hannah & Alayna Kruse. Great grandchildren- Cole Michael Wippert and Isaac Leo Gross. Sister- Ruth Zurkan and Sister-in-law: Mary Jane Malik. Preceded in death by his wife- Coletta Malik in 2006; brother- Raymond Malik in 2017. Funeral Mass: 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 6, 2019 at St. Martin of Tours 1800 Station Road Valley City, OH. Burial- St. Martin Church Cemetery, Valley City. There will be No Visitation. In Lieu of Flowers- The family suggests memorials may be to any branch of Lorain County Libraries. The Bauer Funeral Home, Valley City has the honor of serving the Malik family.
