Understanding When Needed Most
Stanton W. Stout, 69, of Valley City passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 5, 2019. Stan was born in Medina, Ohio on September 15, 1949 to the late Charles and Helen (nee Merva) Stout. He grew up in Elyria, graduated from Elyria High School in 1967 and had attended Lorain Community College before joining the service. Stan has resided in Valley City since 1978 and enjoyed spending his winter months after retirement in Florida for the past 20 years. Stan served in the U.S. Army for 2 years during the Vietnam and the Gulf War. He then enlisted in the National Guard serving from 1970-1997. He was a member of the American Legion Post #610 in Brook Park, Valley City VFW Post# 5563 and a social member of the Berea VFW Post # 6676. Stan took great pride in his family and enjoyed spending time with friends. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He is survived by his wife Beverly “Jessie”, married 49 years, daughter, Shona Stout-Mobley and her son Hunter Mobley; son, Teddy (Heather) Stout and their children, Cameron and Frankie. Sister, Sharon Szabo. Following Stan’s request, there will be no visitation and cremation has taken place. A military Committal Service will be held in August, 2019 at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials if desired may be to the Disabled American Veterans organization in Stan’s name. The Bauer Funeral Home, Valley City has the honor is serving the Stout family.
