David Duane Naftzger

David Duane Naftzger, 79, of Homerville, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Wednesday, February 4, 2026.

Dave was born November 5, 1946 in Medina, Ohio to the late Duane and Marjorie (Kutz) Naftzger. He was a lifelong Medina County resident. He was a graduate of Buckeye High School and received his bachelor degree from Kent State University.

Dave was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam war, receiving a Bronze Star, a Purple Heart, an Army Commendations Metal and a Military Merit Badge. He was a member of the Valley City VFW Post #5565 and the Medina Eagles.  He enjoyed relaxing on fishing excursions with his friends on Lake Erie.

Dave was a CPA and had worked for Mack Industries, Valley City for 40 + years in the accounting department.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Jackie (nee Dieter), married 53 years, sons, Timothy (Rachel) Naftzger and Daniel (Erin) Naftzger; grandchildren, Jacob (Kelcie), Steven, Sarah, Anna and Brian; great grandchildren, Alfred and Lorenzo. His brothers, Dennis Naftzger, and Doug Naftzger (Carol, deceased) and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his extended Dieter brothers, sisters and spouses.

Following Dave’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

Family and friends are invited Monday, March 9, 2026, 10:15 a.m. for a Committal Service with full military honors at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rawiga Road, Seville, Ohio (Please met at the entrance at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Heroes Harbor Hospice at Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center, 10701 East Blvd., (Attention: Heroes Harbor), Cleveland, Ohio 44106.
