William Charles Szakacs

April 25, 1933 - November 27, 2016

William Charles Szakacs, age 83 of Brunswick, Ohio went home to be with his Lord and Savior November 27, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife Beverly Szakacs in 2005. He is survived by his best friend, companion, fiancé Joan Bekina. He is also survived by his best four legged buddy Jack the Pomeranian. Bill was born April 25, 1933 in Smithfield, OH to the late Frank and Rose (nee Kokai) Szakacs. He has been a Medina County resident since 1958. Bill had been a landscaper who did work for Ken Cleveland Builders. His company was Bill’s Landscaping. Bill and his late wife Beverly raised their family in Liverpool Township on a small family farm. He always called it a fun farm where they gave hayrides to church and scout groups. Later on, Bill built a toboggan chute with a chalet to warm up and have bon fires. He enjoyed giving parties for the grandkids, friends and neighbors. Bill and Joan enjoyed watching the Cav’s together as well as the, OSU, Indians and sometimes the Browns. He will be greatly missed by his children- Mark (Patricia) Szakacs, Valley City, Lynette (Dale) Jablonski, of Valley City and Glenda (Marc) Zaffle of Brunswick Grandchildren- Amy (Brian) Conde, Ashley (Jason) Samosky, Mark Szakacs, Jr., Adam (Colleen) Jablonski, Kyle Jablonski, Aaron Zaffle (Fiancé Tiffany Lear), Loryn Zaffle and Ethan Zaffle. Great grandchildren- Avery, Mason & Joey Conde, and Josh Leonard. Funeral Service- 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the Bauer Funeral Home 2089 Columbia Road Valley City,Ohio Pastor Rachel Neal, officiating. Burial- Myrtle Hill Cemetery, Valley City, OH Calling hours- Weds. November 30, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Bill and Beverly helped start the Brunswick Reformed Church in the early 1960’s. In lieu of flowers- the family suggests donations may be made to the church.
