Bernard W. Lachendro, 87, of Lodi, Ohio passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 27, 2017. Bernie was born May 25, 1930 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Bruno and Elizabeth (nee Pitonak) Lachendro. He has resided in Lodi for the past 51 years. Bernie was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a machine operator at Ford Motor Company for 33 years. Bernie was a charter member of Our Lady Help of Christians, Lodi. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting deer and rabbits. Bernie had a gifted talent as a handyman for many projects. He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 66 years, Carol (nee Slivka) dear father of Dan (Gina) Lachendro, Chris (deceased) (Mike) Skala, Judy (Edward) Nalepa, Dave (Debra) Lachendro and Steve Lachendro. Cherished grandfather of Mark, John, Bob, Andrew, Janice, Marie, Becky, Jon, Mike, Phillip (deceased), Shauna, Travis, Brittany and Vincent. Special great grandfather to many. Brother of Carl (Sue) Lachendro and the late Francis Lachendro. At Bernie’s request, cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life Mass to be held 11:00 am., Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Our Lady Help of Christians, 8240 Buffham Road, Lodi, OH In lieu of flowers- The family suggests memorials may be made to the Hospice of Western Reserve, 5075 Windfall Rd. Medina, Ohio 44256.
